Berean Baptist Church > Blog > Commit to Come Back Sunday Evenings

Between now and June, we have ten Sunday nights. However, four of those are scheduled as Sabbath Sunday nights—times intentionally set aside for rest. On those evenings, there will be no services. That leaves six Sunday nights. So here is my question: Will you be faithful for those six?

I am asking you plainly—will you commit to being present 60% of the time over the next ten Sunday nights? Look at the dates and Sundays in the chart to the right.

Can we, as a church, turn a corner and strengthen our commitment to evening worship?

At one time, a higher percentage of our church family made Sunday night a priority. Something has changed.

On Sunday nights, we grow together. We interact more personally. We connect in ways that are harder to do on Sunday mornings. We sing, we pray, and we study the Word together. Most dress more casually. We discuss more. We also create space for those who cannot attend in the morning—and for visitors who may come in the evening. Last Sunday night, we had 3 adults visiting for their first time.

And remember—Sunday night is not just a repeat of Sunday morning. The atmosphere is different. The pace is different. The experience is different. We begin at 5 and finish by 6:15, leaving plenty of time to eat dinner and get your family settled for the night.

So again, I am asking you: Will you come back tonight at 5?
